The view

Lower tier and Block R

The lower tier brings you closer to the boundary. Block R is Yorkshire’s designated alcohol-free seating area, and the club recommends it to families. Spectators who want a drink can do so behind the stand, where a bar is located. Book the named alcohol-free block, rather than assuming every lower-tier seat follows that rule.

For children, a boundary-level view makes fielders and the movement between overs easier to follow. Choose seats together and think about a practical route for refreshment breaks. AccessAble records a step-free front row in Block P and designated lower-tier viewing; wheelchair availability in your preferred family area should be arranged through Yorkshire.

Upper tier

The elevated view helps you follow the shape of the field and the flight of the ball. Yorkshire’s seating guide notes that many members favour this perspective. Try a row that balances the overall view with the amount of climbing your group is happy to do; check the selected seat’s booking description for any restriction.

Both tiers are uncovered. Morning brings mixed sun and shade, with afternoon sunshine facing this northeastern side. Pack hats and sunscreen as well as a warm layer. The upper tier has stepped access, and AccessAble records no designated wheelchair spaces there. Ordinary rows in the lower tier also have steps; a lower ticket alone does not establish a step-free route.

Food, drink and toilets

The club places a bar behind the stand, with drinking kept out of alcohol-free Block R. Its county match guide also lists coffee, cakes and toasties behind the North East scoreboard. Check the fixture’s food arrangements before relying on a particular kiosk, and take a break before the whole group needs lunch at once.

An adapted toilet is on the concourse behind North East Lower, with the surveyed facility using a RADAR key. Ask a steward for the route from your block. Major-match family activities are also behind the East Stand; leave time to get back to your own seats, and agree a meeting point before exploring with children.

Who it suits

Families who want alcohol-free seating will find Block R the clearest fit. The lower view is engaging for a first visit, while the upper tier appeals to cricket watchers who enjoy seeing the whole field from an elevated angle. Choose the tier for the experience your group will enjoy most.

Select Block R first if alcohol-free seating is your priority, then compare the available rows and book everyone in the same transaction.

The club’s published priority starting prices were £50 for Pakistan, £45 for New Zealand and £20 per day for the women’s Test. That window ended on 1 October 2026; ballot and general-sale prices increase. General sale opens at 10:00 on 14 October 2026. Have your account ready, choose a second block and book seats together while your preferred group is available.

For an international group, use your eligible booking window rather than leaving the choice until match week. Check the official seat map for available blocks and use official resale for returns when the match sells out.
