Tavern Stand, Lord’s: view, shade and what to expect
Tavern is at the Pavilion End side of the ground, looking towards the Nursery End. Eligible members’ guests can sit here through the enclosure ticket arrangements; check the tier as carefully as the ticket type.
At a glance: Tavern Stand
The view
Tavern occupies the southern side of Lord’s, between Mound and Allen. You look towards the Nursery End with an angle on the wicket rather than a perfectly straight view down it. Compare the seat viewer across the stand to find the balance you like between the bowling line, the square and the far boundary.
The upper tier is a useful starting point for a broader picture of the field. Lower seating puts you closer to the action, but it is more exposed. If an unreserved Rover ticket is your route in, look at the permitted seating areas before the day and arrive with a preference for height, cover and the number of steps.
The lower and concourse seating is open, while the rear upper rows have cover. Tavern is in shade under cover in the morning, with mixed sun and shade in the afternoon. Check the exact row in MCC’s viewer; a covered rear position and an open lower seat can give very different experiences over a whole match.
AccessAble records stepped access to standard seating in both tiers and no designated wheelchair spaces. Its upper-tier approach includes a substantial staircase. If climbing steps is difficult, contact MCC about a suitable alternative before accepting a Tavern ticket. A seat in the enclosure does not establish that the route is suitable for your mobility needs.

Food, drink and toilets
The lower-tier survey places the Members’ Bar behind the stand. The upper guide records no dedicated food and drink outlet within its seating area, so consider the trip back to refreshments when choosing your tier. Confirm which enclosure facilities your guest ticket permits you to use.
Read the relevant survey for the toilet route and ask MCC where to find the most suitable facility for your needs. If you require an adapted toilet, arrange the route before choosing ordinary stepped seating. Find the return entrance when you arrive and keep interval plans simple if repeated trips on the stairs would be tiring.

Who it suits
Tavern is an inviting choice for eligible members’ guests who like looking towards the Nursery End from the Pavilion End side. The upper tier gives a broader picture of the field; lower seating brings the action closer. It suits a group whose favourite view takes in the bowling line at an angle and leaves room to follow the far boundary.
Compare the upper and lower views before choosing your ticket. For a full day, start with a rear upper row if overhead cover is high on your list.
Tickets for this stand
This is a Members’ Friends’ Enclosure. Eligible MCC members can buy guest tickets through the members’ ballot, including Rover tickets for permitted unreserved areas and reserved seats where offered. Non-members cannot enter that ballot themselves. Ask your member host to select the guest ticket and transfer it through the official account.
The 2027 enclosure terms set prices in the booking platform. The Tavern Stand guest price band is TBC here; use the member’s booking screen for the match and ticket type. The public A–E tariff is a separate allocation and does not price an enclosure guest ticket. Last checked: October 2026.
Prices depend on the seat category shown when you book.
Apply in the relevant ballot and use MCC’s ticket platform for remaining availability. For Rover seating, arrive early if you want a choice of unreserved position. Check your ticket’s permitted areas and MCC’s enclosure dress guidance before the day.
