Party Stand D, Old Trafford: view, shade and what to expect
Party Stand D is Old Trafford’s lively western stand for groups, drinks and fancy dress. Every attendee must be aged 16 or over at every fixture. Choose Stand A for younger children and family seating, or compare the match’s alcohol-free blocks for a different atmosphere.

The view
D runs along the western side, between Stand E and Lightning Stand C. Its side-on perspective lets you follow the shape of shots, the running between wickets and the field spread across the square. Lower seats bring the boundary closer; a higher row gives more of an overview. Use the seat viewer to compare the wicket’s position from your chosen block.
The party atmosphere is the reason many groups choose this stand. The club promotes it for spectators who enjoy drinks in a lively setting and for friends coming in fancy dress. Cricket remains the centre of the day: keep the aisle clear, sit in your allocated seat on reserved fixtures and give neighbours room to watch the play.
Fancy dress and age rule
The minimum age is 16 for all fixtures, including domestic cricket. Fancy dress must follow the ground regulations: avoid unauthorised promotional, commercial, political or religious material, offensive behaviour and prohibited props such as toy guns. Flags or banners cannot exceed two metres at their widest or longest point; poles cannot exceed one metre. Beer snakes are prohibited.
D is open-air seating. Morning sunshine faces this side, followed by a mixture of afternoon sun and shade. Check the row description for any view restriction and pack for a full day outside. The club lists accessible approaches between C and D and between E and D; arrange the designated position and companion seat with the Ticket Team before booking.

Food, drink and toilets
Use the public refreshment outlets open for your fixture and find the return entrance to your block early. For a group day, agree whether everyone is meeting for lunch or taking turns to buy food. You can bring food within the single-bag limit, but the rules prohibit alcohol brought into the ground, unsealed drinks and glass or metal bottles and cans.
Ask a steward for the nearest suitable toilet from your allocated position. The club provides adapted facilities around the concourses and identifies Changing Places behind E; discuss the route in advance if you need that facility. A party ticket does not give access to members’ rooms or private hospitality suites.
Who it suits
D is the choice for groups of eligible friends who want a sociable cricket day and enjoy joining the fancy-dress tradition. Its side-on view gives the group plenty of cricket to follow between the songs, conversations and breaks.
Book the group in the same block and check everyone’s age before buying. Families with under-16s should choose A; A6/A7 and the fixture’s named alcohol-free B blocks offer alternatives.

Internationals, Roses T20 and Hundred use reserved seats; other county fixtures use unreserved seating in the stands opened for the day.
