One-Day Cup 2027 fixtures

The 2027 men’s One-Day Cup fixture list is TBC. This guide explains what to check when it arrives, how the previous season was arranged and how to choose a ground for a full day of 50-over cricket. The current sponsored competition name is the Metro Bank One-Day Cup. The fixture table contains announced 2027 matches only, with previous-season information kept separately below.

When to look for the 2027 programme

The ECB’s completed 2025 county fixture announcement was published in November 2024, and its full 2026 county programme appeared in November 2025. These recent releases make November a sensible time to watch for news, but the 2027 publication date itself is TBC. The group draw, individual venues and start times should come from the new official schedule.

Use the ECB announcement to understand the overall competition, then open the home county’s own fixture and ticket page for the match you want. Check that the year is 2027 and that you are looking at the men’s competition. The women’s 50-over competitions share the sponsor, but have their own fixtures and different competition arrangements.

What 50-over cricket offers

In a scheduled 50-over match, each side has an innings of up to 50 overs, subject to the match regulations and any interruptions. It offers a longer visit than T20 and the prospect of following one contest from its opening through to a result in the day. Plan food, layers and the return journey around the published match notice rather than treating it as an evening outing. Somerset’s published 2026 One Day Cup match guide gives an 11:00 start and 10:00 gate opening as an example; every 2027 fixture still needs its own confirmed time.

For a newcomer, the changing target in the second innings can make the contest easier to follow. Choose a seat where you can see a scoreboard clearly, and leave time to explore the permitted public areas before play. A family visit does not have to mean staying for every delivery; decide how long the day should be before choosing transport.

2026 format and dates: historical guide

The 2026 men’s competition used two randomly drawn groups of nine counties. Each club played eight group matches, four at home and four away. The group winners progressed directly to home semi-finals, with second- and third-placed sides playing quarter-finals for the remaining places. These group allocations and dates belong to 2026, and are not a confirmed 2027 programme.

The 2026 campaign opened in late July, its quarter-finals were scheduled for 14 August and semi-finals for 16 August, followed by the final on 20 September at Trent Bridge. The useful planning point is that a competition can have a gap between the group stages and final. Do not fill that gap with a guessed 2027 date or assume an unchanged draw.

The One-Day Cup final

The ECB’s current domestic-cricket overview identifies Trent Bridge as the men’s final venue. The 2027 final date is TBC in the sources checked. The /grounds/trent-bridge/ hub and the dedicated final guide explain the ground and the official ticket route; use the announced date when it is published before committing to a fixed journey.

A neutral final is different from an ordinary home fixture. Check the venue’s event ticket rather than assuming your county membership admits you, and read any allocation offered to the two finalists. If you want to attend regardless of which counties qualify, that may lead to a different buying decision from waiting specifically to support your own team.

Main grounds and festival venues

The home county name may lead you to think first of its principal ground, but the official fixture’s venue is the one that matters. Use /grounds/ to find the relevant hub or outground guide, then check the entrances, public transport and facilities for that location. A journey to an outground can differ substantially from a journey to the county headquarters.

Where a published seating plan exists, compare the view with the time you expect to spend in the sun. Otherwise follow the venue’s actual ticket description and ground rules rather than assuming every area has numbered seating. Bring the clothing and equipment allowed by the host; portable chairs, bags and food arrangements need their own event check.

Tickets and a workable day out

Compare the published day-ticket categories with any membership you already hold, including whether entry to this competition is covered. Look for the season attached to a price and the specific fixture attached to a promotional offer. A discount from a past campaign is not evidence of a current offer, and a free child ticket may still require advance registration.

For travel, work backwards from the return connection you can actually use. Leave time for the walk to the station and any queues after play. If you choose to stay overnight, read the cancellation conditions before paying and keep the cricket booking separate from assumptions about the weather. The ground hub is the starting point for local planning once your match is confirmed.
