Uptonsteel Grace Road: accessibility

Uptonsteel Grace Road has reservable Blue Badge parking, a wheelchair viewing position in the Charles Palmer Suite and a lift in Mike Turner Cricket Centre. Start with Leicestershire’s current access information and tell the club your match, viewing and arrival needs before selecting an ordinary seat. Different buildings have different routes and admission entitlements.

Booking accessible tickets

Ask the club for the actual accessible viewing position, companion arrangement and ticket category you need. The current page describes a clear wheelchair view in the Charles Palmer Suite, while domestic seating is generally unallocated. A suitable public row and entry to a member or premium room are separate questions. Give staff the named room as well as the fixture before paying.

Current free-companion eligibility and application details are TBC in the access information located. Contact Leicestershire to arrange any companion place rather than buying two independent standard tickets and assuming a later refund. Explain your equipment, required space, shelter preference and whether the rest of the group needs ordinary adjacent places.

Getting to the ground

The club lists twelve reservable Blue Badge spaces at Curzon Road and nine behind The Meet near the Park Hill entrance. Reserve the actual bay and match arrangement before driving. There is no vehicle access from Grace Road itself; use the confirmed approach and entrance. Ordinary ground parking has limited capacity and fixture-specific overflow arrangements.

Leicester station has Category A step-free access to all platforms. Arrange railway assistance through the operator if needed and check current lift availability. An official station-to-ground walking time was not found on the club’s current travel page, so plan the actual onward route or use a suitable taxi or bus. Platform access does not settle every crossing on the ground approach.

Current Arriva services through Aylestone include the 84/85 corridor. Check the vehicle, boarding stop, stop-to-entrance route and last return for your date. A city hotel, Welford Road stay and Enderby base require different onward journeys. Give the club your drop-off or walking requirements if the usual approach does not work for your equipment.

Inside the ground

The Mike Turner Cricket Centre has a lift to its upper floor. The Meet’s upper floor is not wheelchair accessible, so do not book an elevated visit there on the assumption that another building’s lift serves it. Describe the exact room or balcony in your enquiry, including any dining or member entitlement.

The access page describes an accessible reception counter and wheelchair viewing at the Charles Palmer Suite. Accessible toilets and baby-changing facilities are identified at the Fox Bar/Charles Palmer facilities. Ask staff for the route from your viewing place to the nearest suitable toilet before settling into a seat. Current Changing Places and sensory-room provision were not confirmed in the primary page checked; contact the club about any essential requirement.

Assistance dogs and support

Assistance and guide dogs are excepted from the ordinary dog prohibition in the published Blast guide. Pet dogs have separate Championship and One-Day Cup permissions; do not substitute those county rules for an international or T20 booking. Explain your dog and any support needs to the club so the actual entrance, viewing and room arrangements can be discussed.

The club’s published access page gives general gate opening as one hour before Championship, One-Day Cup and tourist cricket, and ninety minutes before Blast. Check the actual fixture notice before travelling. If a quieter arrival, essential medication or specialist equipment helps your visit, describe it in advance so staff can advise on the current arrangements.
