Utilita Bowl: accessibility guide
The Utilita Bowl has wheelchair viewing, a level circulation route around the berm, accessible toilets and free essential companion tickets. Arrange your seat and arrival together with the Ticket Office on 023 8047 2002, option 2 or tickets@utilitabowl.com. Explain the fixture, your group and any mobility, sensory or toilet requirements. The club’s accessibility information is the starting point.
Booking accessible tickets
For international matches, complete the accessible-ticket section of the venue ballot, requesting wheelchair viewing, level entry or a front row as appropriate. The club says tickets are allocated together, with guest seats for wheelchair users in the row in front of the wheelchair area. Ask how that arrangement works for the companion and the rest of your party before accepting the booking.
For domestic cricket, email the Ticket Office. Staff provide a private purchase link and arrange companion seating. The club offers complimentary essential companion tickets at matches and events; discuss the booking process and any evidence needed with staff. Wheelchair areas can be booked for internationals and are used on an unallocated basis at domestic games, supported by a dedicated matchday steward.
Getting to the ground
Close-to-gate parking is available through the Ticket Office; telephone or email before buying a general parking product. The club also describes accessible buses from local transport hubs. Confirm the vehicle, wheelchair space, boarding location and return service for your particular event. Car Park 11 Park & Walk involves grass parking and a hilly walk, so it is not the suitable default for someone needing a short, level arrival.
Hedge End is approximately thirty-five minutes on foot from the ground. National Rail classifies the station as B2, with some step-free access to all platforms and no lifts. Check the exact platform route with the rail operator and arrange assistance before travelling. Southampton Airport Parkway is farther from the venue; plan the last part of that journey as well as the train.
Inside the ground
Clearly marked accessible gates lead to the berm, which provides a level surface around the ground. This circulation route does not mean every ordinary row or pitch-level area is step-free: the club notes short flights of stairs in some places. Describe your destination to staff so they can identify the appropriate entry and viewing space.
Accessible lifts serve hospitality suites and the Roof Terrace from the main stands, Pavilion and hotel. Accessible toilets are at both ends of the Shane Warne and Colin Ingleby-Mackenzie stands, in the Pavilion and at the Hilton End. Some matches use RADAR-key access; ask an information steward if you do not have a key. A Changing Places facility is provided in the ground. Confirm its location, equipment and route if you need it during your visit.
Assistance dogs and support
Assistance dogs are welcome. Tell the Ticket Office when arranging seating so they can consider space and the route around the ground. Other animals are prohibited by the ground regulations, including pet dogs on domestic days.
Sensory bags can be pre-booked free, on a first-come, first-served basis. The club describes them as a way to improve comfort, particularly for autistic supporters. Ask whether a sensory room is operating for your fixture and how it is booked; recent international guidance includes a pre-booked room. Hearing loops are installed at key customer-service points: use the T setting.
Free in-ear radios providing live BBC match commentary are available from the Matchday Information Point in the Atrium for spectators with visual impairments. Ask staff about availability before travelling and collect one early. If you need a quieter break, explain that when booking rather than relying on an ordinary concourse to be quiet during an interval.
