Official current ticket information
Surrey members have first access to the men’s Ashes Test and women’s Ashes IT20, with their allowance and buying window tied to their account. The public ballot opened on 2 September and closes on Sunday 15 November 2026. Results are due on 23 November and successful entrants can buy from 24 November. The ballot also covers Surrey’s Blast London derby against Middlesex. Remaining international seats are due for general sale on 8 December. Use Surrey’s official exchange for returned seats; it closes twenty-four hours before the match. The World Test Championship Final has a separate process, with ticket information TBC, so the Ashes is the featured match in this table.
Use Surrey’s official ticket site for seats, deadlines and current availability. Pay within your allocation’s window. Buy the ticket before committing to accommodation.
Surrey hasn't published 2027 Ashes prices yet. As a guide, 2026 Test tickets were £90–£160 for adults and £25–£45 for juniors.

Day five is a separate booking and the match may finish earlier; read that day’s terms before paying. Compare the concession conditions, any booking fee and the precise category. A premium package can cost more than an ordinary public seat, so compare what is included rather than just the headline price.

Which stand to choose for this match
Start with the kind of day your group wants. JM Finn: covered middle and upper tiers. For atmosphere, compare An England international in south London. Roof cover and the direction of the seats both matter: a covered row can still catch low sunlight. Check the actual tier, block and row before buying, especially if shade is important for children or a full day outside.
Bedser Stand
Bedser sits on the south side of The Oval, between the Pavilion and the western curve of JM Finn. The surveyed lower seating is open, with a separate covered area beside it; upper seating is partly sheltered. It gets a mix of sun and shade through the day, depending on your block. Bedser is a rewarding choice for spectators drawn to the Pavilion End.
JM Finn Stand
JM Finn is the long curve around The Oval’s western and northern sides. JM Finn is partly covered; AccessAble describes the western lower-tier seating as partly sheltered. It gets a mix of sun and shade through the day, depending on your block. JM Finn is a great choice for spectators who like having options.
Micky Stewart Members’ Pavilion
The Pavilion anchors the southeast end of The Oval, between Bedser and SSE Energy Solutions. The Pavilion has both sheltered and exposed seating. The covered seats are in the shade in the morning, and the stand catches the sun after lunch. The Pavilion is a lovely choice for Surrey members and eligible county guests who want a day rooted in the club’s home ground.
SSE Energy Solutions Stand
The SSE Energy Solutions Stand runs along the east of the ground, with public blocks 21–27 shown on Surrey’s map. The ordinary spectator seating is partly sheltered. The covered seats are in the shade in the morning, and the stand catches the sun after lunch. SSE Energy Solutions will appeal to anyone who loves watching cricket across the square.
Day by day: what to expect
Day 1 is for the opening spell and the start of the contest. With the occasion of an Ashes morning comes a busy arrival period: give your journey some breathing room and find your seat before play. Arrange a meeting point outside if your group arrives separately; a ticket gate is an awkward place to organise everyone’s plans.
Days 2 and 3 let you follow the developing match. Pack permitted food, a refillable bottle, sun protection and a waterproof. Use lunch and tea for a walk, and return to your row between overs so you do not interrupt someone following the ball.
Day 4 can bring a deciding session. Trent Bridge publishes a cheaper day-four tariff; other grounds differ. Compare the daily table, and keep plans flexible because the match can finish early.
Day 5 is the lowest published standard daily tariff at Lord’s, Edgbaston and Trent Bridge. The Oval’s tariff is TBC. It can be a useful way to experience a Test on a smaller ticket budget, provided you are comfortable with the possibility of an early finish. Check the release route for that day and keep travel bookings separate from the admission refund terms.
If rain interrupts play, stay with the ground’s announcements. A reduced day may continue after the originally expected interval or close, so avoid treating the planned timetable as a fixed departure time. Refund eligibility depends on the number of overs, the day and the ticket terms; some final-day conditions differ from the earlier days. Hotel and train costs are separate from a match-ticket refund. Read the rain and refund comparison before paying, and retain the confirmation for the correct claim route.
Getting there on a sell-out day
Plan the journey to your gate, including the final walk and the crowd after play. Check transport services and save your digital ticket before leaving home.
Train and Tube. Oval station, on the Northern line, is about two minutes from the Pavilion End. Leave onto Kennington Park Road and follow the signs towards Hobbs Gate. Vauxhall is useful for the other end: South Western Railway trains serve it from Waterloo and the southwest, and its Underground station is on the Victoria line. Allow roughly six to ten minutes to Alec Stewart Gate, depending on your route and walking pace. Check your ticket’s gate before setting off.
For a step-free journey, start with Vauxhall. National Rail’s Vauxhall information confirms access to all rail platforms; TfL’s station page and journey planner cover the Tube route. Oval has no lift access. Kennington is another Northern line option for people comfortable with its platform stairs, around ten to fifteen minutes away. Our accessibility guide covers gates, parking and drop-off.
If you need step-free travel, an accessible seat, companion admission or a drop-off arrangement, settle those details with the ground before buying the rest of the trip. The nearest station and the most suitable accessible route are not always the same choice. Read the ground’s accessibility guide for the published contacts and routes.
Getting home
The 2026 guides give finishes around 18:00 for Championship and Test cricket, 18:45 for One-Day Cup and 21:45 for the international T20. Play can finish early or run late. Use Vauxhall for Waterloo and south-west routes, and connect to other London termini for destinations farther away. Book a licensed taxi in advance if you need a car after play, agreeing a safe collection point with the driver. Check your last train in the National Rail journey planner and allow time to leave the ground.
Where to stay and when to book
Buy the match ticket before committing to a room. Compare cancellation terms, especially for later days. A nearby hotel helps with early arrival; a central base may suit your evening plans. Check the route back after play.
For a budget option, compare Travelodge London Vauxhall on Bondway. For a comfortable chain stay, look at Premier Inn London Waterloo (Westminster Bridge). For a fuller-service stay, Park Plaza Westminster Bridge puts you on the South Bank. Compare the total for your dates, including breakfast and cancellation terms; room prices change.
