Spen Cama Pavilion, the 1st Central County Ground: view, shade and what to expect
The Spen Cama Pavilion runs along the western side of the 1st Central County Ground, Hove. Admission is for Sussex members and valid Pavilion ticket holders; ordinary ground admission does not include it.

The view
The western view
The Sharks Stand curves away to the south-west, while the South Stand offers a different, behind-the-bowler view from the Sea End.
Balcony and lower seats
Rear balcony places have shelter from the roof; front and ground-level seating are more exposed. The covered seats are in shade after lunch, while the morning brings sun. Ask Sussex about pillars, railings or any restricted-view designation on the seat you are offered.
The Long Room and Dining Room
These are named rooms inside the Pavilion. Sussex identifies a rear ramp beside the indoor school and a lift from the rear entrance into the Long Room/Dining Room area. State both the room and the outdoor seat when arranging access: the lift serving a room does not establish a step-free route to every ordinary row.

Neighbouring seating
Compare South Stand and Sharks Stand. Temporary Cromwell Road/east-side seats vary by event. For the Spen Cama Pavilion at Hove, the north-end Family Area needs an under-18 in the group; moderate alcohol is allowed in seats, not on the walkway. It is not alcohol-free.

Food, drink and toilets
Curry & Cricket places its buffet in the Dining Room and provides an allocated upper Pavilion seat. Ask staff for the nearest suitable toilet from your room or row.
Outside alcohol is prohibited at Blast, One-Day Cup and internationals. Check Hove’s packing rules for containers. Return between overs.
Who it suits
The Pavilion suits county regulars who want the club-room setting and a side-on afternoon, as well as visitors arranging a special day through a public Pavilion or hospitality ticket. Practical tip: give Sussex your match, room and outdoor row together, so the admission and viewing arrangements match.
How to get in
Membership and public Pavilion tickets
Sussex’s 2027 membership includes home Championship and One-Day Cup group cricket, with Pavilion benefits on eligible matchdays. Buy a public Pavilion category only where Sussex actually opens it for that fixture; all-ticket matches require a Pavilion ticket.
Curry & Cricket
This published hospitality route includes a two-course buffet in the Pavilion Dining Room, an allocated upper Pavilion seat and two drinks tokens. Book the named package through Sussex and check its match date. The current package description is for 2026; 2027 prices and availability are TBC.
Fourth-day Open Ground Day
The regulations make Championship day four an Open Ground Day, with the club retaining the right to change the arrangement. Spectators may enter the Pavilion and use unreserved seats, while Gold Members and Members have first choice. Check the actual day before travelling; this provision does not turn every county day into unrestricted Pavilion admission.
