Riverside Stand, Cardiff: view, shade and what to expect
The Riverside Stand follows the northeastern boundary of Sophia Gardens Cardiff, between the Jellyfish Family Stand and the Pro Steel Grandstand. The current official map places Blocks 11–20 along this arc. Give the ticket team your block as well as the stand name when arranging accessible viewing.

The view
The curve is part of the appeal: blocks nearer the family corner have a different angle from those towards the Grandstand. Compare the block with the wicket on the official map to decide whether you prefer following the bowling line or seeing more of the square. Higher rows give a broader field view; lower rows put the boundary action closer.
Blocks 11 and 12
For internationals, the club identifies these as low-alcohol areas alongside alcohol-free Blocks 8–10. Low-alcohol and alcohol-free are different categories. Choose the category shown on the event’s map rather than applying the family stand’s rules to every Riverside block.
Accessible viewing
The official seating guide places wheelchair viewing in front of Block 20. Arrange the appropriate viewing and companion tickets with Glamorgan rather than booking an ordinary row and expecting a pitch-level position. The club’s companion policy admits one required companion free for its controlled events, with separate promoters setting their own terms.
Cover and sunshine
Ordinary Riverside seating is open to the weather. It gets a mix of morning sun and shade and faces sunshine after lunch. Front rows are particularly exposed.

Food, drink and toilets
Use the matchday concessions around the ground; the club says the vendors and locations vary with the event and attendance. Take your own food if you prefer a picnic, using plastic cutlery and permitted containers. Cans, glass bottles and your own alcohol cannot be brought in.
Accessible toilets are distributed around the stadium and use RADAR keys, available from stewards and reception. Ask the accessibility team which facility is closest to your viewing position and whether your group needs a specific entrance. Family facilities are beneath nearby Jellyfish Block 10.
Who it suits
Riverside suits visitors who like comparing different viewing angles along a curved boundary and cricket watchers happy to sit in afternoon sunshine. The designated Block 20 area also gives a named starting point for wheelchair enquiries. Practical tip: choose the block first, then ask about its row, route and nearby facilities.
