Radlett Cricket Club: visitor guide
Updated 17 October 2026
Radlett’s Brunton Memorial Ground is a Middlesex outground with unreserved boundary seating and a club pavilion. Radlett station gives it a useful rail connection; the 2027 county fixtures, ticket prices and match transport arrangements are TBC.

Outground at a glance
The ground
The name Brunton Memorial Ground comes from a decisive moment in Radlett’s own club history. After losing its previous home, the club obtained the Cobden Hill land through Miles Brunton in 1937. The club’s history traces a route from its foundation in 1884 through earlier grounds at Newberries and Porters Park to the present site. That local story is worth knowing when a county match fills a ground that continues to serve club cricket.
Radlett describes a cedar-wood pavilion with a balcony, a second adjacent pitch and outdoor nets in its club introduction. The pavilion gives the scene a recognisable focus without surrounding the field with permanent tiers. Our view is that this setting suits a supporter who enjoys watching the field change between overs and can spend time choosing a position around the boundary. It is a different experience from a reserved stand seat at Lord’s, Middlesex’s main home.
The county also uses Merchant Taylors’ School. Keep the venue prominent when saving a ticket or sharing a plan with friends: a Middlesex home fixture can involve quite different travel depending on which of these grounds hosts it. For Radlett, search for the cricket club on Cobden Hill rather than assuming that a central London route will deliver you to the gate.

Stands and where to sit
No published seating plan showing numbered spectator blocks is available here. The July 2026 county guide offered unreserved folding chairs, permitted spectators to bring their own and described sunshade pagodas. The Sussex match information also distinguishes pavilion access for Middlesex members from ordinary ground admission. Ask a steward about the available areas before settling beside the pavilion if you hold a public ticket.
Our suggestion is to take a short look at the available views before unpacking. Watch a few deliveries from an authorised end-on position if judging line and length is your priority; choose a position further round the boundary if you prefer watching the spread of fielders. If moving later, do so between overs and avoid standing in somebody else’s sightline while deciding where to go. An unreserved ground rewards arriving with time to choose, but it does not make any particular patch of boundary yours.
The pagodas offer a useful shade option, though an unreserved ticket cannot promise a particular shaded seat. Put weather protection in the bag even if you hope to sit beneath one. Leave clear access around any shelter and be willing to share the space. Our recommendation for a long one-day match is to combine a comfortable viewing position with breaks away from the chair, rather than expecting the same angle and patch of shade to suit you for both innings.

Getting there
By taxi or drop-off
Book a licensed taxi in advance if you need a car after play, agreeing a safe collection point with the driver. Check whether your preferred taxi app serves the area.
Middlesex’s Radlett venue directions give the station-to-ground distance as 0.7 miles. The walking route follows Watling Street south from the station towards Cobden Hill. The club gives an approximate 10–15-minute walk; allow longer if carrying chairs or travelling with someone who needs a gentler pace. Use the National Rail station page to check current train information and station facilities before setting off.
For the July 2026 Glamorgan match, Middlesex provided a free shuttle before and after play between Radlett station and the ground. General parking was on the adjoining field, while Blue Badge holders were directed to the main entrance. The match guide gives those arrangements; the 2027 shuttle timetable, parking charge and allocation are TBC. If the shuttle matters to your ability to attend, wait for the specific event details before committing to the trip.
A rail journey needs a plan for getting back from the boundary as well as getting there. Our suggestion is to note the last useful connection before travelling and give yourself a comfortable margin for leaving the ground. A one-day match can run beyond its initial schedule. If you must leave early, pack quietly during a break and make your way out without stopping behind the bowler’s arm during an over.
Drivers should follow the county’s current signs even if their navigation app points to the pavilion. The public entrance used for field parking may differ from the ordinary club entrance. Save both the postcode and the match instructions, and arrange a meeting point outside the busy vehicle route if passengers are arriving separately. The club address uses WD7 7JN; some ticket listings use WD7 7JL, so the named ground and match access instructions are more useful than the postcode alone.
Getting home
The 2026 One-Day Cup guide gives an 18:30 finish. Play can finish early or run late. Use Thameslink for London or St Albans and Luton, checking that your chosen train calls at Radlett. Book a licensed taxi in advance if you need a car after play, agreeing a safe collection point with the driver. Check your last train in the National Rail journey planner and allow time to leave the ground.
Tickets and festival days
Buy from Middlesex’s official ticket service once your chosen fixture is available. Its 2026 Sussex listing places the game at Cobden Hill on 11 August. The July Glamorgan guide required visiting county members to buy ground admission, while eligible Middlesex members entered using their current membership cards. A membership held elsewhere should therefore be checked against the exact match offer.
Radlett also hosted a One-Day Cup semi-final in 2026. Middlesex’s semi-final announcement described it as the club’s first List A semi-final since 1990. A knockout fixture can be added after the group programme has been settled, so it is worth following the county news if you want another opportunity to visit later in the season. Admission and capacity arrangements belong to that particular game.
For families, compare the child category in the ticket listing with each child’s age on match day. The 2026 July guide offered an under-16 ticket category, but prices and concessions for 2027 are TBC. Our suggestion is to plan your first visit around what your group will enjoy watching, with permission to take a break, rather than make staying for every ball the measure of a successful day.
Your ticket on the day
Middlesex members show a valid membership card, while public tickets are bought through Middlesex. The club shop and information tent are beside the spectator entrance. Contact the ticket team before travelling if you cannot access your ticket or need to confirm concession ID.
Children and age rules
Ask the county’s ticket team whether a child needs an accompanying adult for this festival. Confirm junior ID, hospitality age limits and the ID accepted at bars before booking. Taking the family
Buy tickets from the county’s official ticket office or the resale platform named by that seller. Use the official resale route and read Action Fraud’s ticket fraud advice.

What you can take in
Middlesex’s outground regulations allow limited alcohol at Championship and One-Day Cup matches: one bottle of wine up to 750ml, two beers or ciders up to 500ml each, or two premixed drinks up to 330ml each. Alcohol cannot be brought in for T20. The regulations also prohibit pets other than assistance dogs and restrict smoking and vaping to designated areas. Read the current version alongside the match notice when packing.
For a summer day beside the boundary, our useful extras are a hat, a waterproof, a refillable bottle and a small bag that will fit beside the chair. Middlesex’s 2026 guides describe free water dispensers and food outlets, so a bottle is convenient even if you intend to buy lunch. If you have a dietary requirement, check the event’s catering information beforehand instead of assuming that a particular vendor will return for the next season.
At the 2026 Durham semi-final, the county’s spectator information again set out the facilities and catering for that event. Check the version linked to your match, especially if attending with someone who needs to eat at a set time. A longer one-day visit is easier when lunch, drinks and any medicines are reachable without repeatedly unpacking all your belongings.
Paying at the ground
Bring a card and some cash, as payment methods for this festival need confirmation. Ask the county about cash-machine provision before travelling.
Where to stay
Our first accommodation search would compare Radlett itself with places that have a convenient rail route to Radlett station. The saving on a room can disappear if it creates awkward transfers or a taxi journey after play. Check the walking route between your accommodation and its station, and include that time when deciding how early to leave on match morning.
St Albans is an alternative area to consider if you want a separate sightseeing day. Visit Herts’ St Albans guide describes the cathedral and the city’s visitor attractions. That is a reason to compare the destination, not a promise of a particular train or hotel price. For a short cricket trip, prioritise the journey that works for your return after play and check the accommodation’s cancellation terms against the fixture date.

Evenings out
The Radlett Centre publishes a programme of theatre, music, comedy and children’s entertainment. If you are staying nearby, its calendar gives you something specific to compare with your cricket date. Our preference would be a show on the evening before the match rather than a tight same-day connection from the final overs, particularly for a one-day game that might finish later than expected.
For food in Radlett, Teatro at the Radlett Centre has its own restaurant and bar information. Check service times and menus directly before booking a table. If you are heading back by train, choose a meal that leaves time to reach the platform without rushing. Dinner plans are easiest when they fit the actual cricket finish rather than an optimistic timetable written before the toss.
Fixtures
Confirmed 2026 examples include Middlesex against Glamorgan on 26 July and Sussex on 11 August, followed by a One-Day Cup semi-final at Radlett. The Glamorgan guide, Sussex ticket page and county semi-final announcement identify those fixtures. They illustrate the ground’s county use in the completed summer.
Radlett’s 2027 programme is TBC. Look for the venue as well as the opponent when the next Middlesex fixtures appear. A season membership advertisement does not give you the date, start time or public entry arrangement for an individual outground game.

Accessibility
The 2026 Sussex match information describes reserved space for wheelchair users and spectators with limited mobility, alongside a Changing Places facility. The July guide also offered shaded accessible seating and Blue Badge parking. Contact Middlesex to arrange what you need for your own date, including the entrance, companion arrangements and the route between seating and toilets.
Do the transport check as a separate part of planning: the suitability of the station, the walk and any shuttle is as important as the viewing area. Ask specifically whether the match shuttle can accommodate your wheelchair or mobility aid if you intend to use it. The county’s future match announcement must confirm its operation and any booking procedure.
